Livery & Co Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Privacy policy

Short, because this site genuinely does very little.

The short version

This website sets no cookies. It has one contact form, on the homepage, and what you send through it comes to Livery & Co and nowhere else. It does count visits, using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not build a profile of you. Nothing here follows you around the web.

What happens if you get in touch

You can contact Livery & Co by email, by phone, or with the form on the homepage. If you do:

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted a business asking about its service, and it replied. Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted after twelve months.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard server request logs, including IP addresses, to serve pages and block attacks. That happens for every website on the internet and Livery & Co has no access to it beyond aggregate counts.

Visitor numbers

To see whether anyone is finding the site, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. When a page loads, a small script from Cloudflare reports which page you viewed, the website that sent you here (Instagram, for example), your country, your type of device, browser and operating system, and how quickly the page loaded.

It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint you or follow you to other websites. Livery & Co sees totals, such as how many visits came from Instagram this week, never a record of any one person. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: knowing whether the site is reaching anyone. If an ad blocker stops the script, the site works exactly the same.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email [email protected] and it will be done within a month, usually the same day, because there is not much to look through.

If you are unhappy with how it is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If we contacted you first

Livery & Co keeps a list of local businesses it may approach about their website. If you were contacted out of the blue, your details came from that list rather than from you, so here is exactly what is held and where it came from.

What is held: the business name, a phone number, the website the business lists as its own, a trade category, and the town or postcode district. Where a matching company exists on the Companies House register, its registered name, status and office address.

Where it came from: publicly available online business directory listings, retrieved through DuckDuckGo's places service, which draws on Apple Maps and Yelp records; OpenStreetMap, used only as a second opinion on whether a business appears to have no website; and the Companies House public register.

Nothing on the list was gathered from you. Every entry is recorded as coming from a public directory record on a given date, not from any contact with the business.

It is used for one thing: to decide whether a business might want a better website, and to say so once. The lawful basis relied on is legitimate interests, the interest being to offer a relevant service to a business that appears to need it, balanced against the fact that the details are business contact details already published to attract enquiries.

You can stop it. Ask to be taken off the list and you will be, and you can ask what is held about you or have it corrected. Email [email protected]. You do not have to give a reason, and asking costs you nothing.

Client websites

Where Livery & Co builds a site for a client that does collect data, such as a contact form, the client is the data controller and Livery & Co is their processor. That relationship is set out in the client agreement, not here.
